Rasar State Park

August 27-29, 2004
Rasar State Park, North Cascades, Site #12&13

Who: Eric, Dianne, Joshua, Lydia Katzel

Weather: Rainy!  It rained all day on Saturday.

Sites are nice and large.  Pull-through sites are quite huge. Great privacy. Nice looking playground. Park has several miles of trails that would be nice to explore in better weather.

Wenatchee Confluence State Park

August 20-22, 2004
Site #45

Who: Eric, Dianne, Joshua, NSA Ambassador Sunday School class - Lampers, Tradals, Berges

Nice campground with huge sites on a grassy field.  We spent the day at the beach wading and going out on the Lampers boat.

Campground is in downtown Wenatchee, so there were lots of sirens and traffic noise, but it quieted down at night.

Newhalem

August 13-15, 2004
Newhalem, North Cascades, Site #101

Who: Eric, Dianne, Joshua

Weather was great - really hot, sprinkled for 5 minutes on Saturday.

Beautiful area with lots of great hikes and walks.  We went to the Gorge Powerhouse, but couldn't get to the Botanical Gardens since we only had the stroller with us and there were lots of stairs.   We saw a really pretty waterfall though.

We never made it on 2 of the other close-in, easy walks - too busy relaxing and trying to stay cool.

Camano Island State Park

July 30 - August 1, 2004
Camano Island State Park, Sites 47 & 49

Who: Eric, Dianne, Joshua, PEPS Group members - Johnsons and Leatys

Weather was awesome.  Sunny and hot.  The campsites were shaded so they stayed pleasant.  The beach is a short, but steep, hike away.  All 3 babies did really well and seemed to enjoy being outside.

Salt Creek Recreation Area

June 11-13, 2004
Salt Creek Recreation Area, near Port Angeles, Site #51

Who: Eric, Dianne, Joshua - his first trip at 3 months old!, Loki

Weather: Sunny Friday, sprinkles Saturday, poured Saturday night.

This was our first trip in our "new" 1982 tent trailer.  It was great!  Made camping in general better and more possible with a baby.

The campground was great.  Our site was totally secluded from other and had a great view of the sound.

We went on a nice hike to a cove.  It was only 1 mile each way, but the last bit was quite steep.  There are also interesting tide pools we would have like to look at more if it wasn't raining.

Jayco

Friends from church were ready to sell their tent camper and gave it to us for a steal.

1982 Jayco

Reminded me of the one my parents had when I was a kid.

It didn't have any amenities like heat, or hot water, but was very nice to have indoor cooking and a sink.
