Long Beach

December 21-23, 2016

Eric unexpectedly got two weeks off at Christmas (basically he was laid off) and we decided to head out of town.  A friend of a friend owns Worldmark and agreed to book us a room.  We chose the Surfside Inn on the north end of the Long Beach peninsula.  It was available, had a pool, and there was a GeoTour in the area where I could earn a coin.

It has been years since we stayed in a Worldmark and had forgotten how wonderful they are.  Spacious, full kitchens, just wonderful.  We had a 1-bedroom, 2-bathroom.

Eric and the kids enjoyed a whole bunch of laying around the condo watching TV and playing video games (Eric brought the laptop to play his game).  I enjoyed a whole bunch of geocaching.  I went out both mornings around 5 to grab some of the 25 geocaches I needed to earn the coin.  While some of them were miles and miles apart, it was a great tour of the area.

Being December by the ocean, we got rained on, but I got all my caches!

Othello

October 21-23, 2016

Who: Eric, Dianne, Joshua, Nora, Conner, Kim, Bobbi Ann & Ruby, Kris, Shaina and Rayna

We headed to Othello for the weekend to visit friends and took the trailer as our friends house was going to be full.  It was sure cozier in there with Eric added!

We about froze the first night, even with the heater running full blast.  It's under the dinette, so the beds on the ends don't get much heat.  We bought a heating blanket (and a memory foam topper) and the 2nd night was much more comfortable!

Eric went into Tri to visit friends, while us girls and kids went to the pumpkin patch and had fun.

Girl Scouts - St. Albans

September 30 - October 2, 2016

Nora's fall campout was at St. Albans near Belfair.

We actually got to stay in a lodge this time.  No freezing at night, electricity, it was awesome!  As it rained most of the weekend, it really helped as well.

We had a few of our meals in the dining hall with all the other campers up there.  I earned our way for free by volunteering to cook for a the meals. Made me appreciate the kitchen at LBC!

Bellingham

September 16-17, 2016

Eric wanted to get out of town, so we picked Bellingham.  There was one geocache there I needed to earn a coin.

We toured around a bit, seeing the sights and got a bunch of geocaches.

Chicago

August 9-25, 2016

Clarence & Donna Wessman invited Joshua and Nora out to Chicago for two weeks!  It was a little nerve wracking for me, sending them on a plane all alone, but they had a great time.

They went to myriad museums and places of interest.  Thanks Pop Pop & Busha!

Othello

May 27-29, 2016

I had geocaching to do, so we headed to Othello for the weekend.  Joshua and Nora hung out at Conner's house.  I headed to Ritzville for the Cache Cow.  I raced all over the area collecting 20 new caches and earning a coin.

Redwood Trip

April 23-26, 2016

Who: Dianne, Joshua, Nora

Lincoln City KOA, OR
Site #006

Nice campground, spaces well spaced.  Huge playground.  Shower was pathetic.

Rained all night.  Poured.  Sounded like a hose on the roof!  Seems our tents need a coating of waterproofing spray.  Nora's sleeping bag was wet, luckily only on the end!

Very nice to have a trailer that we can get inside of for lunch and bathroom breaks.

Crescent City KOA, CA
Site # 106

Really, really nice!  Spaces are big, fairly private.  Tons of really cool sites back in the woods.  Big playground.  Rec room with ping pong and video games.

Visited the Trees of Mystery which I remember visiting as a kid.
